Whistler, British Columbia, Canada,
welcomes the rainbow when it plays host to one of the largest gay and lesbian ski events in North America.

Located just 75 miles north of the spectacular city of Vancouver, BC, along the Sea to Sky highway the award-winning European inspired alpine village of Whistler (which is, by the way, the future home of the 2010 Winter Olympics & Paralympics Games), has everything ski lovers can imagine...
and then some.

More below...

GayWhistler’s WinterPRIDE, the evolution of Gay Ski Week, is recognized as one of North America’s premier winter festivals. The week long celebration of diversity and inclusiveness is more than just the world renowned skiing and snowboarding – including the legendary ski guiding program and après parties (and not to mention the Hot Tub Parties!)

A huge array of non-ski events for those who have no interest in slapping on a board under their feet and go hurling down some 8,171 acres of pure skiing bliss on an average of 33 feet of snow per year! One such adventure is a ZipTrek EcoTours canopy tour. Imagine flying through snow covered trees on a cable pierced through ancient cedar trees and being caught by some very hot guides! The views between the mountains of Whistler & Blackcomb with the raging Fitzsimons Creek is no doubt a unique experience you have to do! And if flying through the forest like Batman is not your thing, then maybe you’d like to try your hand at mushing on a dog sled team in the pristine back country of Cougar Mountain. There’s also snowshoeing, snow mobiling, inner tubing, and even float tours on the Squamish River to be inspired by hundreds of Bald Eagles.

And in the evening...

After all the activity and fresh mountain air, you may choose to take in one of the culinary classes like “Singles & Sex Food” where you prepare aphrodisiac canapés, or take in one of the many health + wellness classes like Arbonne skin care seminars. You can also just relax at one of the many spas. Whistler has it all!

Outrageous Entertainment and PARTIES!!!

Every epic festival needs amazing entertainment, and WinterPRIDE is no exception. The “Queerly Canadian” Comedy Experience features Last Comic Standing’s Debra DiGiovanni. Debra headlines with her good friend, Vancouver based comedian Darcy Michael opening the show. Together they have many entertaining stories that are sure to make for a great night of laughter. To quote Debra: “We are thrilled to be a part of the festival this year. Darcy and I are totally getting arrested. I’m just saying!” Another not to be missed event is the WinterPRIDE Banquet – an amazing sit-down dinner with fantastic entertainment (last year there was a special guest appearance by Cirque du Soliel). There’s also an ample amount of dancing; most notably the weekend parties. Friday night guests will get warmed up at the new Village T-Dance, followed by the MountainTOP party on top of the world, with music spun by Atlanta-based DJ John Millier. John’s tribal beats and high energy vocals provide a perfect base for a “peak” experience. Saturday’s Snowball Dance ‘till Dawn with the “people’s DJ” David Knapp will create a snow storm of epic proportions from 10PM to 6AM, just in time for the farewell Sunday Brunch!
